Google Maps, used mainly for traveling from one point to another, is adding some more features. However, they may not come too handy during this time because of the global coronavirus pandemic. But once things are back to normal, it can be of great use for people who love traveling. One of the features is Trips Tab in the Timeline on Android. Timeline allows users to find places they have already visited. Now the new Trips Tab will allow users to view their past vacations along with photos. Not only this, they will get to know the total distance they traveled during the vacation and even means of transportation used.
Thanks to this update, users will be able to share their entire holiday data with anyone they want. This feature will even provide information regarding hotels and restaurants you used during the trip. It will help to make a rich catalog of locations whenever you go for a vacation and then you can recommend the same to others. According to Google, the app will provide all these details based on location history. The best part is users will have the option of editing their timeline at any point in time. They can even choose to delete their Location History. In order to use Timeline, users must on Google Maps app with version 9.12 and above. Soon the Trips tab will be made available to users with Android users.
Google said the new features can be used in Google Photos and Google Maps to go down the memory lane. “If users turn on their Location History setting, Trips can be used as a handy tool in case they feel nostalgic. Though the feature is currently available only for Android users; it is very likely to go live on the iPhone. Earlier, the search engine giant added a COVID-19 layer in Maps to help users find information about coronavirus cases in a particular area.
