If you’re living in that area where there are lots of deers then from last few days, you must be hearing about CWD which is a Chronic Wasting Disease. In the last few days, many reports came which were stating that a “zombie” deer disease which kills a deer might infect humans also. Some researchers even believe that CWD shall be treated as a human disease since it could infect humans also. However, now some health experts are stating that CWD is not that much dangerous and there’s no need to get afraid of it. It’s been found that CWD can cause problems like Stumbling, drooling or extreme weight loss in deer but saying it “zombie” disease is not an appropriate way to describe the medical condition of an infected deer.

Some health experts from U.S. Geological Survey’s National Wildlife Health Center said that CWD is not a zombie disease because in this medical condition a deer dies slowly but painful death. Experts think that calling it a zombie disease might send a wrong message to general public and many people might interpret it in a wrong way. CWD is getting spread very quickly and there needs to be something done about, and that’s why there are many state health department is spreading a word about it.

Because such disease can also infect other animals like Cows, Dogs, etc and many farmers who have livestock shall take care of their animals more cautiously. According to reports symptoms of such disease can’t be traced easily because an infected deer might show its first symptoms after two years. So it’s not easy to locate infected deers, but experts think local public shall take care of their health and try not to get in contact with such animals.
