YouTube’s Trending page is always filled with the latest and trending music videos. YouTube does count the total views in a certain time period to rank the videos in the Trending page. But from now on, the official Music Videos will not have any more advantage over the other videos. Usually, the Music Videos run advertisements to gain additional views and then get ranked on the Trendings page. From now on, YouTube will not count the video views collected from the paid advertisements run on the platform.

The Music Industry has always been using Paid advertisements on YouTube to get an enormous amount of views and land on the trending page of the platform. YouTube also calculated the number of views the video received naturally and the paid views. YouTube counted it as the definitive cultural impact. That’s how most of the videos in Trending pages do have the record-breaking views in the first 24 hours of release. But fortunately, we will see less of such Music videos in the trending sessions. YouTube will automatically filter the paid views to the videos for considering it to rank on the trending page.

From now on, only organic views will be counted. The publishers can run the advertisements on other online platforms and gain millions of views in 24 hours, and YouTube would count them. But the platform won’t count the native ads in the total views. It’s a great initiative to curb the dominance of the music videos and movie trailers on the trending page and recommendations to the users. Users and publishers started to criticize the algorithm when Indian Rapper received more than 75 million views in 24 hours by using the advertisements and other ways. The record-breaking 75 million views surpassed the record of BTS of 74.6 million views in 24 hours. Thankfully, YouTube has removed the same and will count only organic views.
