WhatsApp is working on a new message reaction feature. The feature is still under the development phase. It will allow users to react to messages. The feature is quite similar to Facebook Messenger’s messages reactions. WhatsApp is testing the feature with limited users. The reactions will appear below the texts. WhatsApp users can use the feature for both private and group chats. Reactions in group chats will not be anonymous. It means that users in group chats can see who has reacted to messages with reactions. Reactions are emojis. It is used during conversations to react to specific messages. The motto is to make conversations fun and engaging.

WhatsApp didn’t share the timeline for the launch of the reactions feature. It is testing the feature for iPhone. The company will soon make the reactions feature available for its Android Beta app. People who wish to experience how the new feature works will have to update the app to the latest version on compatible phones. To send a reaction, users will have to tap and hold the message they wish to react to. Then drag it to the appropriate emoji to send. There is no limitation on how many times users can react to a message. Users can react multiple times by sending different emojis. A similar feature is already available on Instagram and Facebook Messenger.

WhatsApp said that the entire process of reacting to messages will be as per the company’s policy. It will be end-to-end encrypted, meaning no user will be able to see reactions. Separately, WhatsApp is planning to redesign chat bubbles. The chat bubbles will now appear more rounded. The bubbles will look more bugger and modern. The company will add more contrast and it will feature a new color. Another tweak WhatsApp is planning to introduce is related to larger images and previews of links. Meanwhile, WhatsApp has released a new animated sticker pack. The pack is based on Money Heist and has 17 stickers. Money Heist is a Netflix series and released to users worldwide recently.
