Obesity is apparently one of the serious health issues impacting the average American. According to the new reports, obesity rates are skyrocketing across the United States. Already, five states have an obesity rate of 35%, which is incredibly high. It should be noted that, before two years, the same was present in five states only. In the span of two years, the health situation has declined in two more states, it seems. It needs to be noted that not many US states have attained a noticeable upgrade from the previous situations. Instead, a few more states have become made things worse.

Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and West Virginia were the five states that had an obesity rate of around 35%. According to the latest update, Iowa and Oklahoma have been added to the list. “Obesity is a complex and often intractable problem, and America’s obesity epidemic continues to have serious health and cost consequences for individuals, their families, and our nation,” says the official press release from the Trust for America’s Health. It also adds that: “The good news is that there is growing evidence that certain prevention programs can reverse these trends. But we won’t see meaningful declines in state and national obesity rates until they are implemented throughout the nation and receive sustained support.”

These findings were made by using the data published by the Center for Disease Control, and things are not that good for the average American citizen. Making things worse, the ‘State of Obesity’ report says that one in 5 adults in the US is obese. This poses a serious problem from many aspects, health being one of them. Lack of healthy food and an inactive lifestyle are considered some of the major reasons for obesity, which can be a reason for a variety of issues, including diabetes and high blood pressure.
