Facebook already has one of the best messaging apps but the company is adding more features. The social media giant has announced that it would add several new features to both Facebook Messenger and Instagram DMs. It said that new features will enhance the experience of users while allowing them to be more expressive in the way they chat. Out of the various features announced, the handiest seems to be the addition of inbox seen status within Instagram. This lets you know by simply seeing in your inbox that the person you sent messages recently has seen your DM or not. This will make it very easier to find out if your contact is ghosting you.

Another such important feature is being added to Messenger. Facebook has now made hiding old chats easier. This can be done without deleting it as the social media giant has added a swipe to archive gesture. At the same time, the company has made it easier to revisit those conversations. Searching for them will not be required anymore. You can very easily find them through a menu item that can be reached by simply tapping on your profile photo. You can send your chat to the new Archived Chats folder by simply swiping left on a chat from Messenger. By doing this, you will get the option of sending it to the archive folder and if you wish to do that, simply touch on the purple button over there.

Ever since Clubhouse gained popularity, all social media platforms are working to enhance audio-related functionality. Facebook too has been working on it. The social media giant now allows users to simply tap the mic icon if they want to send a voice memo. Earlier on Messenger, one has to press and hold the icon to record the voice. According to the company, this feature is also coming soon to Instagram. Another feature involves how you reply to Instagram photos and images. The feature will allow users to reply with their own images of video clips. Initially, this feature will be available for iOS users but it will be soon launched for android users as well.
